Utica, NY – DeAndre Fyffe of the Utica College men’s track and field team has been named the UC Male Athlete of the Week.
 
The freshman thrower made his outdoor collegiate debut in stunning fashion, throwing a new school-record and Empire 8 record distance of 52.10 meters for first place in the discus event. His mark also has him sitting in third place on the NCAA DIII Outdoor National Qualifying List. To cap off his day, Fyffe also placed first in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 15.39 meters.
 
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, as they head to the nearby Hamilton College for another meet.
