UTICA, NY – Junior Bianca Bockhaus of the Utica College women’s tennis team has been named UC Women’s Athlete of the Week due to her phenomenal performance last week against Delhi, scoring a point in both her singles and doubles match en route to the team's first win of the year.

Bockhaus won the fifth singles match, defeating a tough opponent in Delhi’s Susan Hoskins by a final of 6-3 and 6-1. Her energy was far from gone after her singles match, as Bockhaus later teamed with Selma Ahmetasevic to secure her second win on the day defeating the team of Sarah Krzyston and Makalia Bean of Delhi by a final of 8-2.

Both her wins in singles and doubles play wasn’t enough for the Shenorock native as she came out last Saturday strong securing the only singles match win on the day at Houghton.

The Pioneers look to keep the ball rolling as they hit the road this Wednesday to take on St. John Fisher at 3:30.
