Utica, NY - Freshman Eschone Cofield-Jackson of the Utica College women's track & field team has been named UC Female Athlete of the Week for her stellar performance this past weekend at the Valentine Invite hosted by Boston University.

Cofield-Jackson was among the team's top performers on the track as she turned in a crisp multi-event effort. She ran another fast time in the women's 60 meters amidst a large field, placing 26th in a field of 80 competitors with a time of 8.14. She set a new collegiate personal best at 200 meters with a 25.39, a performance which extends on her previous conference best time, and also stands just .14 off the school record. It is also the sixth fastest time in the nation as compared to times entering Saturday's action, with results still coming in from across the country.

The Pioneers return to action this Friday for the Conference Tune Up at Nazareth College.
