Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (10/1/12)- Junior Anthony Caruso of the Utica College men’s soccer team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 8.

Caruso totaled nine saves as Utica had two 1-0 losses to nationally-ranked No. 17 Plattsburgh State and No. 18 Williams College last week.  On Tuesday, he made three saves as the Pioneers’ fell to Plattsburgh.  He followed that up with an impressive six-save overtime performance against Williams. 

On the season, Caruso has totaled 35 saves to go along with his 1.35 goals against average and .729 save percentage.  He also has two shutouts so far for UC.

The Pioneers return to action Tuesday as they host Clarkson University for a non-conference contest.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
