Utica, NY (11/12/12)- Freshman Raphael Warnon of the Utica College men’s swim and dive team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week, Monday.

The Rock Tavern, NY native won four events to help Utica defeat Wells College 75-45 on Saturday.  He started off the day by helping the Pioneer relay team to a first place finish in the 200-yd medley relay.  Next he captured the top spot in the 100-yd backstroke with a time of 1:03.41. Warnon added another first place finish in the 200 yard back stroke after registering a time of 2:19.03 and he tallied his fourth first place finish of the day in the 200 yard individual medley (2:13.41).

He has scooped up seven first place finishes, including five solo victories through three events so far this year.  The Pioneers return to the pool Saturday as they travel to Saratoga Springs, NY to take on Skidmore College.  Start time is 1 p.m.
