Utica, NY (4/29/13) – Sophomore Megan Kane of the Utica College women’s lacrosse team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts on the turf this past week.

Kane tallied six goals, eight groundballs and six draw controls in a 1-1 week for the Pioneers. She scored four of her six goals to go along with six groundballs and four draw controls in UCs 11-4 victory over Keuka College on Wednesday. She led the Pioneers with two goals in their loss to Stevens on Saturday.

Kane finished the season second on the team in total points with 43. She had a team-best 40 goals, 38 draw controls, 23 caused turnovers and was second on the team in ground balls with 41. Kane compiled a .714 shot on goal percentage on her team best 62 shots on goal this season.

The Pioneers closed out their 2013 campaign with an overall record of 9-6 with a 2-5 mark in conference play.
