Utica, N.Y (11/29/10) – Freshman forward #Jon Gaffney# of the Utica College men’s hockey team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 28, 2010. 

Gaffney had a career night, netting two goals and adding one assist, as the Pioneers defeated visiting and nationally-ranked No. 10 Amherst College, 3-1, in front of 2,975 fans at the Utica Memorial Auditorium Saturday night.

He currently ranks fourth on the team with nine points on five goals and four assists in eight games played this season. 

The Pioneers (6-3, 1-2 ECAC West) return to action for their fifth straight home game Friday when they host ECAC Men’s West Conference rival Manhattanville College. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m.
