Freshman Brandi Blaszak, of the Utica College volleyball team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Blaszak was named to the All-Tournament Team at Hartwick College’s Holiday Inn Invitational over the weekend. She continued her stellar freshman campaign by leading the team in kills(43) and blocks(12) as the Pioneers finished the weekend with a 1-3 record. Blaszak leads the squad in both of those statistical categories on the season as well, with 245 kills and an Empire 8 Conference-best 101 blocks.

The Pioneers will wrap up the home portion of their season on Wednesday, Oct. 23, as they host Russell Sage College for their 2013 Senior Night festivities. The contest will begin at 7 p.m. at the Harold T. Clark Gymnasium.
