UTICA, NY- Sophomore goaltender, Keira Goin, of the Utica College women’s ice hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after her top notch performance in a two-game stretch against host Buffalo State College.

    In the weekend series Goin tallied 63 saves. Friday evening she stopped a total of 35 shots and followed that up with her seventh win of the season (28 saves) on Saturday.

    Goin is fifth in the conference in goals against average (2.13) and in winning percentage (.577). She has finished the regular season with a save percentage of .924 ranking her seventh in the conference.

    The Pioneers have ended the regular season in fourth place in the conference with an overall record of 10-10-5 and a conference record of 7-7-4. The team returns to the ice Saturday evening at 7 p.m. against the Bengals of Buffalo State for the first round of the ECAC West conference playoffs.
