UTICA, NY- Utica College women’s hockey player, Veronique Lortie, has been named the Utica College Female Athlete of the Week for her performance in two games against William Smith College this past weekend.
 
Lortie scored two goals on Sunday to help the Pioneers claim a 4-0 victory and the weekend sweep. UC defeated William Smith 1-0 on Friday to notch their first win of the season. After finishing last year with four total points on four assists, Lortie wasted no time getting her first and second collegiate goals in just the fourth game this season.
 
The Pioneers will be back in action this weekend with a double-header against SUNY Potsdam on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, and Sunday’s contest will be in Potsdam at 4 p.m.
