Utica, NY -- Mark Taylor of the Utica College football team has been chosen as the UC Male Athlete of the Week for his strong play over the weekend.

In UC’s 33-7 win over St. John Fisher, Taylor made multiple big plays defensively to help the cause. As the game was approaching halftime, Mark intercepted a Fisher pass play and ran it back 74-yards for the pick six. He put his stamp on the contest again late in the fourth quarter with a second interception for Utica.

On top of forcing two big turnovers in the passing game, Taylor was all over the field making tackles as well. He led all Pioneers with a total of nine tackles in the game, including seven solo stops in the open field. His efforts on defense helped UC secure its second win over Fisher in program history.

Taylor and the rest of the Utica College football team will be on the road for the next game, as they will travel to face Morrisville State for an Empire 8 matchup on Saturday. The contest is scheduled to kick-off at 12 p.m.
