Utica, NY – Kyle Swiecki of the Utica College men’s track and field team has been named the UC Male Athlete of the Week after his success at the All-Atlantic Regional Championships.
Swiecki broke the school record and set a new meet record at the AARTFC Indoor Championships over the weekend in the heptathlon. He finished the event with 4,789 points, placing first to earn the regional title for the competition.
Kyle’s mark has him listed 14th in the country for the heptathlon, qualifying him to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships this upcoming weekend. He is the first multi athlete in program history to qualify for nationals in the heptathlon.
Nationals are scheduled to begin Friday, and are being hosted by the University of Massachusetts in Boston, MA.
