Alanna Fragapane has been named a Pioneer Athlete of the Week for the week of October 20th, 2025. This is her second Pioneer honor of the 2025 season.
Fragapane, a team captain, helped the field hockey team put forth two outstanding offensive performances this past week, using her four goals and one assist to help the squad pile up 9 total goals in a 1-1 week. Fragapane’s biggest contribution was her seven-point performance on Saturday against Elmira, a game in which she nabbed her second career hat trick, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Earlier in the week, Fragapane also netted the Pioneers’ opening score, helping knot the game at one apiece on the road at St. John Fisher. The game would remain 1-1 until a late Cardinal rally. The Rome native was also extremely efficient, landing all seven of her shot attempts on frame during her pair of contests.
Fragapane and the field hockey team are set up for a fantastic finish to the regular season, with contests against Hartwick and Brockport this week, two games that will determine whether the Pioneers have a chance to secure an Empire 8 Tournament birth.Â
