UTICA, NY (11/1/11)- Freshman Cody Racha (Holland Patent/ Holland Patent, NY) of the Utica College Cross Country team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Racha, recently named NYSCTC Rookie of the Year, set a new school record in the men’s 8k Saturday at the Empire 8 Conference Championships with a final time of 26:05. The previous record was 26:07 set by Adam Harding in 2006.
Racha, who has been one of UC’s top two finishers in every race this season, also received Empire 8 All-Conference first-team honors.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to Williamstown, MA to compete in the ECAC Division III Championships. The race is set to start at 12 p.m.
