Utica, NY (2-4-13) – Junior Jaimee Balloni, of the Utica College women’s track and field team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday for her performance on the track over the weekend.

Balloni, also a standout on the women’s cross country team, won her first race of the season Saturday at the College at Brockport Invitational and qualified for ECAC post season competition.  She took first place in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:08.24 and also guided the 4x800 relay team to a record-breaking win clocking a final time of 10:27.09.

The Pioneers return to the track on Saturday when they travel to nearby Hamilton College to participate in the Hamilton Indoor Invitational at 10 a.m.
