UTICA, NY- Utica College sprinter Nicodemus Gambill was named the Utica College Male Athlete of the Week after his team-leading performance Sunday at the Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at St. John Fisher College.

            Gambill was named the Male Track Athlete of the Meet after claiming first in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events. He secured 20 team points as he posted a time of 10.68 in the 100 and 21.72 in the 200. Gambill’s times broke the school record and the Empire 8 meet record for each event. He currently ranks sixth in the country on the NCAA Qualifying list for the 100 meter dash and 13th in the country on the same list in the 200 meter dash.

            Next up for the Pioneers is a trip back to St. John Fisher Saturday, start time of the events is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
