UTICA, NY — Senior Ashley Mayo was named the Utica College Female Athlete of the Week on Monday. 

This past weekend Mayo joined the 1,000-point club in a conference matchup against St. John Fisher, becoming the 12th player in program history to reach that milestone. 

This season the senior guard is averaging 13.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. She currently ranks ninth in the conference in points per game and sixth in steals per game. Her .370 shooting percentage puts her at No. 7 in the conference. In 18 games Mayo has scored in double figures 16 times, including a career-night against St. John Fisher where she poured in 33 points on January 2.

Mayo and the women’s basketball team return home on Tuesday in a make up game against Empire 8 juggernaut Nazareth College. Opening tip is scheduled for 8 p.m.
