UTICA, NY – Sophomore Madison Akots is named Utica College Female Athlete of the Week for her amazing performance against Elmira College and Alfred University.
 
Akots tallied eight hits, five RBI’s and two runs across a span of four games as the Pioneers increase their winning streak to eight games straight.  Against Elmira College she had a .522 batting percentage going two for three with two RBI’s in a 4-2 win over the Soaring Eagles (04/18/22).
 
Against Alfred University she erupted going two for three with a season high two runs and a batting percentage of .545 percent as UC defeated Alfred 6-4. Akots has come on strong after being introduced into the starting lineup and has helped the Pioneers win four straight double-headers.
 
The Pioneers will are currently 14-14 overall and third in the E8 with a record of 6-2. UC will host Nazareth College Thursday, April 26th in a double-header starting at 3:30 p.m.
