Kristy (Patchett) Fischmann laid the ground work for the success of the Utica College women’s lacrosse program and it is only fitting that she is now the first women’s lacrosse player to be inducted into the Pioneer Hall of Fame.
All told, she was a three-time Empire 8 Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference selection. In 2003 she was a First Team All-Conference pick and she guided the Pioneers to the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) Lacrosse Championships. As a senior she finished the year ranked third in the Empire 8 in goals per game (2.79).
Fischmann ranks second on the College’s all-time scoring list with 167 career points on 150 goals and 17 assists. She is one of two players in school-history to score more than 150 career goals. Her average of 4.07 points per game also ranks second all-time at UC. She is the College’s all-time leader with an average of 3.66 goals per game. Her 208 career shots ranks second all-time and she ranks fourth on the College’s all-time list with 112 career draw controls. Her 69 points (63 goals, six assists) in 2002 still ranks second all-time at UC.
She helped guide the Pioneers to 17 victories in three seasons under the guidance of Head Coach Azure Davie (2001-2002) and Jessica Critchlow (2003).
As a sophomore in 2002 she was named an Empire 8 All-Conference second teamer and a NYSWCAA third team selection. In her freshman campaign (2001) she was an Empire 8 Player of the Week and ECAC Player of the Week selection on her way to earning Empire 8 All-Conference second team honors.
She was an Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Academic Honor Roll selection after earning a 3.97 overall GPA in the Spring of 2003. She was a Dean’s List student all three years at Utica and earned a prestigious internship with Interpol in Lyon, France after her junior season.
Upon graduating from Utica College she pursued her J.D. at Syracuse University College of Law. During her time in law school she maintained a role as the Syracuse Law Review Executive Editor, she was a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society and she also received her National Security & Counterterrorism Law Certificate. She earned Dean’s List honors and also garnered the Syracuse Law Review Distinguished Service Award.
