A two-time All-American, Rob Tutein was also a three-time All-Empire 8 First Team member in the high jump as the Empire 8 Conference Champion, as well as an All-Empire 8 Second Teamer in 2014. He was also a two-time NYS Conference Champion and a one-time ECAC Champion in the high jump.

Across his career, Tutein had 12 first place finishes across various meets. He took home the NYS Championship in 2015 with a jump of 2.03m and then again in 2016 with another 2.03m mark.Â
His first Empire 8 Championship came during his freshman season with a jump of 1.90m. He would go on to take second place the following year before returning to an Empire 8 Champion in 2015 when he set a PR, at the time, of 2.05m.Â

Tutein would continue to build on his tremendous 2015 season, winning his first New York State Championship with a 2.03m jump before taking the ECAC Championship crown with an all-time PR of 2.08m. His last event of that year earned him his first All-American nod as he placed fourth in the nation at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.Â

Tutein’s senior campaign in 2016 was remarkable as well, with three first place finishes. These wins were highlighted by his third Empire 8 Championship in which he would tie his all-time PR of 2.08m followed by his second New York State Championship with a 2.03m score. He would go on to take third in the ECAC Championships despite an impressive 2.06m jump. The senior’s final event earned him his second All-American nod as he took fifth place in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, jumping 2.07m.

A member of the men’s basketball team as well, Tutein accumulated 785 points in 84 career games. His final season saw career highs in minutes per game (31.6), rebounds per game (3.6), total assists (15), total blocks (22) and points per game (17.6). His 17.6 points per game in the 2015-16 season still ranks 15th on the program's single season scoring list.

Tutein was a marksman from three-point range, tallying 146 career makes from deep which leaves him seventh all-time in program history. Across his junior and senior seasons, he made 119 three’s and shot 40 percent from behind the arc. Making 60 threes in 2015, Tutein holds the ninth most made in a single season in program history and his 59 made in 2016 are the 10th most. He holds a career .375 shooting percentage from three.Â

Notably in 2016, Tutein was featured on SportsCenter Top 10 Plays for his game-winning buzzer-beater at Elmira College. His acrobatic shot from way behind the arc earned him number 2 amongst the top 10 and gave Utica a 75-74 victory.Â

A native of Nanuet, NY, Tutein graduated from Utica with a degree in criminal justice.
