Shelby Barbay

Shelby Barbay is undoubtedly the top goalie in the history of the Utica College women’s lacrosse program. Furthermore, she is one of the most decorated goalies in Empire 8 Conference history.

Barbay was a two-time Empire 8 Conference Goalie of the Year and a three-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection, including two first team accolades in 2010 and 2011. She was also a two-time IWLCA All-Region selection.

Barbay is the program’s all-time leader in wins, totaling 26 over the course of four seasons. She also ranks first in saves (548), fourth in save % (.501) and sixth in ground balls (158).

She was a four year starter for the women’s lacrosse program. She was in the top 10% in the country for ROTC and received Criminal Justice Student of the Year honors in 2012.

For her efforts over the course of her career, she was named the College’s 2012 Dick Miller Award winner as the top senior student-athlete in the department.

Shelby is originally from Waterloo, NY and attended Waterloo High School. She graduated from Utica College with a degree in Criminal Justice and currently resides in Syracuse, NY.  She is the daughter of Rose Agan and Joseph Barbay.
